Born for This: My Story, My Birthday, and the Journey That Found Me

Today’s a special day; it is my birthday. I wanted to share something deeper with you. My story. The journey behind Hygiene Headquarters Inc. The journey that shaped me, as a person, a dental hygienist, and an entrepreneur.

I’m a Gemini, which means I thrive on change, growth, reinvention. Maybe that’s why this story isn’t one with a straight line. It bends, breaks, and blooms. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that life doesn’t always go the way you plan, sometimes, it goes better.

Dental hygiene didn’t find me because I planned it that way. It found me. My career is so much more than I ever could have imagined. From clinical practice to mentorship, from leadership positions to business ownership, I didn’t see it all coming. But I’m so grateful I stayed open to the possibilities.

One of the biggest turning points in my life came in my early 20s. I was hit by a drunk driver and ended up in a coma. I couldn’t remember. I couldn’t walk. My parents were told to plan my funeral yet here I am. I had to be rebuilt, not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually. That time taught me one of life’s hardest but most beautiful lessons: you don’t always get to choose what happens, but you do get to choose what you make of it.

My family, friends and the healthcare team held me up when I couldn’t hold myself. And later, mentors believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. If you’ve ever been there at the edge of doubt, staring into the unknown, I want you to know, I see you. I’ve been you.

So, here’s my birthday gift to you: a couple of truths I’ve learned the hard way, the real way.

  • When you’re scared to jump, The fear never really goes away. But neither does the calling.
  • Take action. Thinking is important. But overthinking? That’s time you don’t get back. Do the thing. Make the call. Apply for the program. Launch the idea.

And please, if you need someone in your corner, someone who understands the grind, the fear, the joy, the big leap, I am here. Reach out. I mean it when I say: if I can support your journey, I will.

Thank you for being here, now go live your best life.

With love,
Jenn
